Vehicle weight
Battery packs are heavy. A Tesla typically carries more mass than a comparable combustion car of the same footprint, and that mass has to be supported, turned and stopped by four contact patches. More load means more heat and more scrub in every corner.
This is why load index is the first specification we check. A tire that matches width and diameter but not load capability is the wrong tire on a Tesla.
Instant torque
Electric motors deliver peak torque from a standstill. Even gentle driving applies force to the tread more abruptly than a gas engine does, and enthusiastic driving multiplies it. Rear tires on all-wheel-drive cars often show this first.
Alignment and pressure
Alignment errors that a lighter car tolerates for years show up on a Tesla in months. Underinflation wears the shoulders and adds heat; overinflation wears the centre. Both are cheap to correct and expensive to ignore.
If your wear is uneven across a single tire, suspect alignment or pressure. If it is even but quick, look at compound choice and driving style.
Staggered setups and rotation limits
Some Teslas run different front and rear tire sizes. Those cars cannot be rotated front to rear, so tires wear to their own schedule and get replaced in pairs. Where rotation is possible, staying on schedule is the cheapest tread life available.
