What do T0, T1 and T2 mean on Tesla tires?
A T-mark on a sidewall identifies a Tesla-specific tire specification. Whether one exists for your car depends on the manufacturer, your model, model year and wheel size — so we check rather than assume.

Find the right tire for how you drive
Tesla owners want different things from a tire, and no single tire is best at all of them. Tell us which of these matters most and the recommendation changes accordingly.
Best for range and efficiency
Rolling resistance is the tire property most closely tied to how much energy your Tesla uses at a steady cruise. Tires built with lower-rolling-resistance compounds and lighter constructions generally ask less of the battery than aggressive, heavy or very soft-compound tires in the same size. Pressure, wheel size and how you drive still matter, so we talk about the whole picture rather than promising a specific mileage gain.
Best for a quiet ride
With no engine noise to mask it, road and tire noise becomes the loudest thing in a Tesla cabin. Tread pattern, block arrangement, carcass construction and — on some tires — an internal acoustic foam layer all influence what you hear. Two tires in the same size can sound noticeably different, which is why noise is one of the first things we ask about.
Best for long tread life
Tesla vehicles are heavy and deliver torque instantly, so tread life depends on more than the tire. Alignment, inflation pressure, staggered fitments that limit rotation, and driving style all shape how many miles you get. We choose a harder-wearing construction where that suits you, and we read your current wear pattern before recommending anything.
Best for performance and handling
If you use the car's acceleration and want steering response to match, a performance-oriented tire in the correct load index and speed rating is the honest answer. Expect firmer ride quality, more noise and shorter tread life in exchange for grip — trade-offs we'd rather explain up front than have you discover later.
Best for everyday driving
Most Southern California Tesla owners are best served by a good all-season or grand-touring tire: predictable wet grip for winter storms, sensible tread life, comfortable ride and reasonable noise. This is the category most Model 3 and Model Y owners end up in, and it is where the widest choice sits.
Best for value
Value is not the cheapest sticker price — it is cost per mile with acceptable comfort and safety. We will show you where spending more buys real tread life or quiet, and where it does not, then let you decide. No upselling into a tire your driving does not need.
Best for OE-style replacement
If you liked how the car felt when it was new, the closest match is a tire built to the same specification family your Tesla left the factory with — including Tesla-specific applications carrying a T-mark, where such a tire exists for your size and model year.
