Check cold, check often
Driving heats the air and raises the reading. Check first thing in the morning, or after the car has sat for a few hours, and top up to the placard figure.
Ambient temperature swings change pressure too. A cool Los Angeles morning after a hot week can drop readings noticeably.
What the wrong pressure looks like
Both shoulders wearing faster than the centre points to underinflation. The centre wearing faster points to overinflation. Either pattern is visible long before it becomes expensive.
A tire that will not hold pressure
That is a diagnosis job. A slow leak can be a puncture, a valve, a bead seal or wheel damage — topping it up every week hides a fault rather than fixing it. Bring it in and we will find it.
